The Elizabeth Jennings School for Bold Explorers, P.S. 456, is a new dual-language English-Spanish elementary school located in downtown Brooklyn. Part of The Alloy Block—a community-centered megaproject that includes residential, educational, office, cultural, and retail spaces—the school’s main entrance is situated on State Street, adjacent to the Khalil Gibran International Academy (KGIA), a dual-language English-Arabic public high school positioned along the Flatbush Avenue side of the development. Designed to meet energy-efficiency standards and serve as a model for future City educational facilities, both schools are New York City’s first Passive House–designed public schools and support a healthy, dynamic learning environment with shared recreational spaces, auditoriums, and kitchen facilities. The Elizabeth Jennings School is housed within a preserved historic structure, and its brick-clad exterior complements the surrounding brownstone-lined neighborhood.

Front consulted on both The Elizabeth Jennings School for Bold Explorers and the Khalil Gibran International Academy projects in addition to The Alloy Block’s two residential towers, 505 State Street and One Third Avenue.
