Renovation to 900 19th St project repositions an existing eight-story building in down town Washington DC with a minimalist lightness in lieu the previous granite cladding from the late 70s.
Front provided technical consulting services of the façade systems details. Front was also involved during curtain wall mockup testing, fabrication and its installation.
The chamfered concrete floor slabs were “extended” to complete the building footprint on the site, maximizing the rentable square footage. A new floor-to-ceiling all-glass unitized curtain wall reclads the existing building and also and seamlessly completes the building’s corner extension giving the building a wholly new reading and site presence. An integrated edge of slab reveal provides added legibility and definition the building buildings new identity. The double height ultra-clear structurally glazing storefront system at the corner offers a dramatic new entrance at the corner of 900 and 19th Streets.
