St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Storm King Art Center Receive 2026 AIA NY Design Awards

Front is pleased to share that two of our projects have received 2026 AIA NY Design Awards, part of AIA New York’s annual program recognizing excellence in design. Both projects are also featured in Oculus magazine’s 2026 AIANY Design Awards print issue.

Powell Hall at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center, home of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, received a Merit award. Front collaborated on the expansion with Snøhetta and Christner Architects, a CannonDesign company. The expansion features arched openings that echo historic St. Louis structures, as well as large glass curtain walls framed with light-colored, curved, and battered brick masonry veneer.

Storm King Art Center received a Citation for Sensitivity to Landscape and Art award for its capital project. Front collaborated on the expansion of the Hudson Valley 500-acre art and cultural center with Heneghan Peng and WXY Architecture, consulting on the design of all above grade vertical and horizontal envelope systems for the two Welcome pavilions and the Conservation, Fabrication, and Maintenance (CFM) building.
