Crossing DC

Crossing DC is a new luxury residential development in Washington, DC’s Capital Riverfront district. Comprised of two towers with 800 units, on-site retail, restaurants, and fitness facilities, the building’s unique H-shaped design opens up the structure by creating courtyard spaces, terraces, and multiple access points to engage the public at ground level.

Front consulted on the project from schematic design through construction administration, assisting with the street-facing façade modules, which feature a cementitious frame spanning two floors at 10 ft wide by 19 ft high, with a recessed glazed system and spandrel panel. Additionally, the courtyard’s carved façade is characterized by 6 ft wide unitized curtain wall with vertical extruded aluminium fins. Storefronts at the podium retain the modularity of the systems above though use a glazed steel tee system, accentuating the greater 25 ft vertical spans and giving the spaces a distinct and unified character.

The project achieved LEED Gold certification.
