The new patterned glass façade, for this 151,000 ft2 (14,028 m2) luxury flagship Holt Renfrew store in Vancouver, supports the unique brand identity at this store location. The unitized curtain wall consists of mostly slumped glass textured panels, which give the façade a dappled quilted appearance. At the spandrel locations, where an opaque system is required, a mirrored glass shadow box is used behind the exterior glass. Both slumped and flat glass panels are used at different vision glass locations. The slumped glass is fabricated using an artisanal method and is heated on custom steel grid forms. Front consulted on this unitized curtain wall system, as well as the frameless glass storefront and glass canopy systems from schematic design through construction administration.
