One Third Avenue Tower in Downtown Brooklyn Breaks Ground

The One Third Avenue tower, designed by Alloy as part of Phase 2 of The Alloy Block, has officially broken ground in Downtown Brooklyn. Rising 725 feet (220 meters) and 63 stories, the tower is positioned as the second high-rise in this transformative mixed-use development and aspires to become the world’s tallest Passive House building, setting a new benchmark for sustainable high-rise construction. Phase 2 also includes the preservation and adaptive re-use of two heritage buildings, reinforcing the project’s commitment to thoughtful urban stewardship. Front is serving as façade consultant, providing technical design and engineering support for the tower’s high-performance envelope, which will support its ambitious energy-efficiency goals while accommodating a mix of market-rate and affordable housing, retail, and commercial office space. Through close collaboration with the design and development team, Front is contributing to a façade strategy that advances both architectural excellence and rigorous environmental performance at an urban scale.
