Fast Company features North Dakota’s Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library

Fast Company features the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in Medora, North Dakota. Front is collaborating on the eco-forward library with Snøhetta and JLG Architects. Seamlessly integrated into the Badlands landscape, the project pays tribute to the 26th US President, aligning with Roosevelt’s environmental values and his dedication to conservation. As Edward O’Keefe, CEO of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation, shares with Fast Company, the library is not a museum with only artifacts under glass but rather intended to be an experience, evocative in its design inspired by nature and its green roof featuring dozens of native plant species. The building’s envelope features wood cladding, wood wind and solar screens, and locally sourced stone, punctuated by bands of high-performance triple glazing. The intensive green roof incorporates custom metal clad skylight enclosure and solar tubes.
