Rothschild 48 Hotel
The Rothschild 48 Hotel and Garden is an exclusive boutique hotel in the center of Tel Aviv. The four-story building maintains its original Bauhaus design on the street-facing elevation and features a new fully glazed frameless façade facing an internal garden. The building hosts eleven luxury rooms, with a single executive suite extending the entire top floor, a restaurant at the ground level, and a bar with a pool at the roof.
At the garden-facing facades, the large glass panels span floor to floor using a mullion-less unitized panel system. All vertical glass-to-glass joints are mitered at a 45-degree angle and structurally sealed on site. The horizontal joints are minimal, and all the floor finished end seamless against the glass giving the impression of continuity between the interior and exterior. To maintain the maximum transparency, the façade uses laminated low-iron glass without coating, which is only feasible given that the surrounding buildings fully shade the site. A large glazed elevator, the size of a full room, will transport guests while sitting on sofas. Large minimal sliding doors open away from the corners of the room allowing for the corners at the restaurant and suite terraces to fully open to the exterior.
