Grand opening of Columbia Manhattanville Forum and Academic Conference Center
Columbia Manhattanville Forum and Academic Conference Center designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop and Dattner Architects has been inaugurated!! We are really pleased that Front’s collaboration with the client, the design team, and delivery team could help bring clarity to the design issues and advance the project on schedule.
The Columbia University Manhattanville Forum’s multi-purpose event space features a state-of- the-art steel façade, an innovative foamed-in-place, precast exterior wall system. Front provided facade consulting services through all phases of this project, and our expertise in glass coatings, treatments, and simulation helped to determine how to minimize heat gain, maximize daylighting, and maintain occupant comfort. The building features an acoustically-isolated auditorium, visiting faculty offices, and open gathering spaces that include glass parapets, cantilevered extensions, canopies, and a unique project geometry that presented special design challenges.
