Brooklyn Public Library New Lots Branch Design Unveiled

Situated on New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn, the new library sits atop a historically significant African American burial ground dating back to the Revolutionary War era. Designed in collaboration by MASS Design Group and Marble Fairbanks Architects, the project seeks to honor this profound heritage with dignified, thoughtful architecture. As façade consultant, Front has provided critical technical design and engineering support to develop an exterior envelope that reflects the project’s cultural sensitivity and architectural ambition. The façade system balances transparency, natural light, and thermal performance, helping bring an environment of openness, contemplation, and respect to this deeply meaningful site.
